Daniel Muñoz admits Manchester United would be his ‘dream’ move as he waits for January transfer window

Crystal Palace wingback Daniel Muñoz has admitted that a move to Manchester United would be one of his ‘dream’ destinations.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last five outings and the summer signings have begun to make an impact at Old Trafford.

Bryan Mbeumo has been the standout addition so far while Senne Lammens is showcasing important traits between the sticks.

The transfer strategy at United looks to be improving and Ruben Amorim has hinted that the Reds could strengthen further in the January window if the right opportunity comes.

If they were to make any moves, it seems like their priority positions would be in central midfield or upfront after Benjamin Šeško’s injury.

Muñoz explains ‘dream’ United move

United’s current wingbacks include the likes of Amad, Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu and some believe that improvements need to be made.

One of the best performing players in that position in the Premier League is Daniel Muñoz, who plays at right wingback for Crystal Palace.

He has had 12 goal contributions in the league since the start of last season and has admitted in a recent interview that a move to Old Trafford would be a ‘dream’ for him.

“First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another,” Muñoz said when asked about transfer interest to AS.

“If you ask me, it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United.

“I think I’m working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because for me, it’s a dream to get there.”

“If you ask me, I don’t have concrete information any of these clubs are interested in me. My focus is on Crystal Palace. We’ll see when the winter transfer window gets closer.”

Muñoz signing doesn’t make sense for United

Even though Muñoz is one of the best performing wingbacks, and that he would clearly be in favour of a move to United, it doesn’t seem like a deal that would make sense for the Reds.

Amad is growing in that position and building a positive relationship with Mbeumo in front of him.

Muñoz is not a player Palace would let go easily and United should be focusing on strengthening other areas of the pitch. If they are looking to buy at wingback, then it should be on the left side.
