Crystal Palace defender’s comments on 4-0 win vs Man United are embarrassing for Erik ten Hag
Following Manchester United’s embarrassing 4-0 Bank Holiday Monday defeat away to Crystal Palace, Chris Richards of the home side had few positive words to say about Erik ten Hag’s side.
Conceding 18 shots and 4 goals, United were second best from the first whistle, with Ten Hag’s injury-riddled side being at their very worst.
One goal down within twelve minutes, United failed to start or finish strongly, with the Red Devils outclassed in every manner imaginable.
Ten Hag’s side now find themselves in 8th place in the Premier League with three games left to play and no games in hand on those above them in the league.
Worse yet, United have a goal difference of -3 and are on track for their first negative goal difference finish in Premier League history.
Chris Richards, who played the full game against United, was left unimpressed by both United and his own team’s inability to score more than four.
Speaking after the game, Richards would remark the following about Palace’s dominant victory over the Red Devils:
“It’s always good winning at home, especially with a shutout, and 4-0 – it doesn’t get much better.
“The first half of the season we were standing off a bit too much, Oliver Glasner came in and said we needed to get on the front foot and now we’re getting the results.
“It’s always nice to score four but we could have had more and that shows the potential we’ve got in the team.”
