Crystal Palace boss OIiver Glasner singles out two ‘very good’ Man United players
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has singled out two ‘very good’ Manchester United players ahead of their Premier League clash this weekend.
The Reds travel to the capital to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening with the hope to build on their recent form.
Erik ten Hag’s side have won back-to-back games against Southampton (3-0) and Barnsley (7-0) after having a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign.
Oliver Glasner’s side will present a different challenge to those teams, however. Despite being without a win so far in the league, they can be a threatening side.
That was shown last term when United failed to win against them in the league, with the away result being a horrid 4-0 defeat.
Glasner singles out two United players
Despite emphatically winning against the Reds last time around, Glasner believes that Ten Hag’s side has plenty of quality.
In particular, he highlighted Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford as potential danger-men in United’s “very good” offensive line.
“Even when they [Manchester United] lost 3-0 against Liverpool, the xG was almost the same,” he began while speaking in his pre-match press conference.
“They have a lot of quality in their offence, with their wingers, brilliant in 1v1, with players from the midfield always scoring.
“Now it was [Joshua] Zirkzee or [Marcus] Rashford who played in the EFL Cup, so a very, very good offence.”
Glasner eyes United weakness
While the Reds can be dangerous going forward, the Palace boss is also eyeing potential spaces on the break and hopes that his team can be as clinical as their previous matchup against United.
He added: “But also you can see that if you defend well, you will get your chances because they play very offensive football and have clear structures, so that speaks for their manager.
“But I’m convinced that we will find our spaces where we can create chances and score goals. We did really well in that game, in the last game, and then it’s to be efficient if you get the chances to score from it. In all those games we had, we had chances.”
