Cristiano Ronaldo reunion: Man United star set for £50m Al Nassr summer move
One Manchester United star is eyeing an Old Trafford exit this summer and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are interested with a huge offer.
Manchester United have struggled defensively so far this season mainly due to injuries to the likes of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martínez.
The Argentine is out for at least eight weeks following his recent injury against West Ham, and Varane has seemed to be demoted to understudy when this defensive pair are both fit.
Raphaël Varane has become disgruntled about his fall in Erik ten Hag’s pecking order.
With the club not opting to extend his contract and actively pursuing the signature of Jarrad Branthwaite, an exit from The Reds on a free transfer is slowly becoming a real option.
It is being reported by the Daily Star that one of Varane’s main suitors for a move in the summer is Al-Nassr which will be a reunion with his former Real Madrid and United teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Saudi Pro League side is owned by Prince Faisal bin Turki, who has a staggering net worth of almost £23 billion.
According to the report, he is hoping to make United’s No.19 current wage of £340,000 per week look like peanuts.
If Varane were to take his talents to the Middle East, he would be set to earn up to £50 million a year, which is over £30 million more than his current contract.
Although he is only 30 years old, and still regarded by many as one of the best in his position when fully fit, United under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS seem to be moving away from the expensive contracts that players like Varane have become accustomed to, and perhaps Saudi is the only viable destination for his demands.
