Manchester United will continue their hunt for more domestic trophies after winning their first of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag got his hands on his first silverware as Manchester United manager as United defeated Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley stadium.

The tie saw Casemiro and Marcus Rashford net one each, with some brilliant performances being crafted by the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Next up, the Red Devils are set to face West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The side have so far defeated Everton and Reading in the third and fourth rounds respectively and will be looking to advance themselves into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The referee and match officials have been confirmed for the fixture set to be played at Old Trafford.

Match referee

Michael Salisbury will be in charge of the clash that is set to take place at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

He has refereed 21 fixtures so far this season, all across domestic English competitions, and has refereed United one time so far this season- a 3-0 Premier League home victory against Bournemouth.

Assistant referees

Gary Beswick and Simon Long will be the two on duty as linesmen for the FA Cup fixture.

Video Assistant referee

Simon Hooper will be in charge of the VAR system, with Sian Massey-Ellis as his assistant.

Hooper has officiated two United games this season: The brilliant 2-0 win over Tottenham and the more recent 2-2 draw against Leeds United.

Fourth Official

David Webb will be in charge of keeping things in check in the technical area between Erik ten Hag and David Moyes.

Ten Hag has already been cautioned once this season, during the 2-2 draw against Barcelona earlier on this month.
