CONFIRMED: Manchester United squad to face Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)
Manchester United welcome back Casemiro and Lisandro Martínez to the matchday squad to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
The South American duo returning will be a big boost to Erik ten Hag’s side for this clash against Spurs after extended time injured for both of them.
United have dropped into ninth in the Premier League table after Saturday’s fixtures and need a win at Old Trafford to ensure they do not move further away from the Champions League spots.
Martínez makes the defensive set-up much stronger. He is alongside Raphaël Varane, Jonny Evans and Willy Kambwala as options to start at centre-back.
Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were also sighted entering Old Trafford. Luke Shaw was not spotted. However, Ten Hag suggested that the defender could return beforehand, and it’s possible he entered the building separately.
In midfield, United are also looking strong, with both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen returning to the squad. They are joined by Scott McTominay, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes as options in the engine room.
Meanwhile, the forward line sees Rasmus Højlund back in a Premier League squad after his illness against Nottingham Forest. He missed several chances against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup but will be hoping to make its goals in consecutive league games now.
Antony, Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho were also spotted by cameras entering the building.
Similarly to Shaw, neither Marcus Rashford nor Amad were seen entering but could’ve been entering from elsewhere; otherwise, it could be possible for youngsters to be involved if there is illness or injury.
The full squad that has been sighted through club photos or the United Stand stream, can be viewed below:
