Chelsea star Cole Palmer has received some new transfer advice as the attacker continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
Chelsea star Cole Palmer has established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout performers in recent seasons and Manchester United are among those reportedly monitoring the Manchester-born midfielder.
Although Palmer has impressed in recent seasons, the 23-year-old has endured a difficult start to the current campaign due to persistent injury setbacks. The England international has started just 14 Premier League matches so far but has still contributed eight goals and one assist.
Despite those numbers, questions have been raised internally about his overall performances, fuelling speculation about his long-term future in west London.
Some reports have claimed that Palmer would be open to a move to Old Trafford, but Liam Rosenior has played down those suggestions.
Palmer receives fresh United transfer advice
Former Chelsea player Gus Poyet has made his feelings clear about Palmer’s links to United, claiming that the attacking midfielder should remain at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to football.london, he said: “I wouldn’t [join Man Utd], if I was him. I’m not saying this because I played for Chelsea, because this is not the United from Sir Alex Ferguson.
“People that say, ‘it’s still Man United’. I’m sorry, no. The last five years, six years? No [it’s not the same]. So I think Chelsea now is a better club, structure and more consistent than United.
“I’m not British, maybe sometimes for British people or for the players, Man United is still the biggest club, fair enough but I wouldn’t say that.
“Now, then there is a situation with his position at Chelsea, that is a process. He likes to play in a certain position; he left Man City because he was playing wide and playing a little, and now he’s back to the wide position.
“I really hope he doesn’t get upset, he’s performing and he’s happy, because if not, obviously that can’t help. So let’s see what happens at the end of the season, especially in the World Cup, because I think he’s a player of incredible, incredible quality and Chelsea needs him to stay.”

Is Palmer move the right one?
Any move for Palmer in the coming years would involve a crazy fee due to his lengthy contract at Chelsea and his recent injury problems have raised concerns.
United need to complete a midfield rebuild and they also have other areas that need strengthening before they even consider an ambitious move for the boyhood supporter.
Palmer’s position is another interesting topic. While he has played centrally for Chelsea over the last year, his best form has come from the right-wing.

That is a position United have finally resolved, with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad as senior options in that role, while Shea Lacey is also coming through the academy.
Despite this, the links with Palmer are not going to go away quietly and many fans believe that he will eventually end up at Old Trafford.
