Club president confirms £75m duo are ‘allowed to leave’ this summer, Man United interested in both players
The president of Lille has confirmed that two Manchester United targets will be allowed to be sold this summer.
United will likely be moving forward with their transfer ambitions in the coming weeks after it was confirmed that Erik ten Hag will remain as manager for next season.
UtdDistrict understands that two of the main positions that will be focused on now are centre-back and striker. The club desperately needs to boost both positions.
They received good news this week after Lille confirmed they are open to selling two players that the Reds are interested in this summer.
The president of the Ligue 1 outfit, Olivier Létang, provided an update on the future of Leny Yoro and Jonathan David in a press conference presenting Bruno Génésio as the club’s new manager.
Génésio will likely be without two of the club’s key players from last season, as Létang stated, as per GFFN, “We have two players who will be allowed to leave: Jonathan (David) and Leny (Yoro).”
Yoro, 18, is one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Europe. It has been claimed that United have tabled an offer for the centre-back, althought those reports have been dismised by others. They will face stern competition from Real Madrid.
Other reports have stated tha the French club are looking for around £33 million for the exciting teenager.
Meanwhile, David has been linked to a Premier League move for a number of years, and recent reports have placed him on United’s striker shortlist for this summer. He is valued at around £42 million by his club.
INEOS are keen to sign a forward to help lighten the burden on 21-year-old Rasmus Højlund. Alongside David, the club are also monitoring Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee.
