Christopher Vivell discovers ‘suitable’ Iliman Ndiaye price tag amid Man Utd transfer plan

Manchester United are prepared to enter discussions for one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents.

Manchester United have recently overhauled the club’s attack, signing Premier League stars such as Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to improve on the 44 league goals scored last season.

With 12 games left to go, the new additions have done just that; the Reds have scored 47 goals so far and sit 4th in the league.

Players like Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford left the club last summer and have impressed for their new sides.

However, with the likelihood that Rashford will leave United permanently this summer, one more proven replacement is on the board’s radar.

United in for Ndiaye

Everton is looking to offload a few players this summer transfer window, including putting the squad’s best talents up for sale.

Illiman Ndiaye is obviously at the forefront of this, in a Toffees side that struggles with attacking outlets. Ndiaye raises the standard in that sense.

Having signed from Marseille in 2024, Ndiaye has been consistently Everton’s best player throughout his Merseyside career.

His impressive stint in the Premier League has caught the attention of Christopher Vivell and the rest of the recruitment team, as TeamTalk reports.

Everton is asking for a fee in the region of £70 million, which the Friedan group believes is a suitable price tag for such a talent.

United are yet to submit a bid for the Senegalese international, but time may be of the essence as reports also suggest Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Ndiaye.

Where would Ndiaye fit in?

After the departure of Rashford last season, the Reds have scored few goals. Relying on the inexperienced Alejandro Garnacho and Hojlund to lead the line.

This period ultimately led to dismay: failing to perform competitively in the league, relying on centre back Harry Maguire to advance to the Europa League final, and subsequently losing after failing to score in that final.

The acquisition of Ndiaye, on paper, would improve an attack that has started firing on all cylinders, but I struggle to see how Ndiaye warrants a place in the starting eleven.

Mbeumo, Benjamin Šeško, and Cunha are all in great form, as the Reds have scored nine goals in the past five games, whereas Ndiaye has scored one goal in the league since the start of November.

£70 million seems steep at the moment, despite Ndiaye’s obvious ability. It will be interesting to see if the United board decide to proceed on the rumours.
