Chris Sutton has made his predictions for the Premier League’s weekend fixtures, including Manchester United’s game against Leicester City.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will lead Manchester United one last time as interim manager this weekend in their Premier League fixture against Leicester City.

Under his guidance, United have secured two wins and a draw in his three matches, including a Carabao Cup win over The Foxes and a Europa League triumph against PAOK.

He’ll be keen to close his interim spell with a victory, as three points are vital for United’s efforts to move up the Premier League standings.

Currently placed 13th after a tough season start, United face an uphill task under incoming manager Ruben Amorim to secure European football next season.

Chris Sutton makes Man Utd vs Leicester City prediction

Former Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton has predicted for another win for The Reds against Leicester City in his BBC Sport column.

While he suggests that there is not much to take from the emphatic Carabao Cup win against them last week, a win is the prediction from the ex-forward.

“Manchester United thrashed Leicester, external in the Carabao Cup at the end of October in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first game as interim manager, but the Foxes had made nine changes from their previous league game,” Sutton said.

“So I am not sure that 5-2 scoreline tells us too much about what will happen here, but I do think United will win again.”

Sutton backs Fernandes to thrive

Sutton is also backing captain Bruno Fernandes to thrive in this game. “I have put United midfielder Bruno Fernandes back into my Fantasy team,” he said.

“I should have captained him last week, when he scored a penalty against Chelsea – my assistant [his son] told me to do that, but I didn’t listen.”

Fernandes had a difficult start to the season in terms of goalscoring but has netted three times in as many games under Van Nistelrooy.

The club captain also provided his sixth assist of the season on Thursday against PAOK and looks to be hitting form in the final third.
