Chelsea make second approach for Manchester United’s top target
According to reports, Chelsea have made an approach for Brighton’s head of recruitment, Sam Jewell.
Dan Ashworth is set to engage in formal discussions with Manchester United to become their new sporting director as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS‘ huge revamp of the Old Trafford sporting structure.
He will become the second huge change at United since Ratcliffe had his 25 per cent stake in the club accepted, with Omar Berrada set to join the club as the new CEO from the summer onwards.

And now, Ashworth had already identified his priority target to join United’s recruitment team, but they face competition from Chelsea.
This is according to The Telegraph, who explain that Chelsea have now made a move for Brighton’s head of recruitment. Sam Jewell.
They have taken this decision amid fears that Dan Ashworth will take Jewell with him to Old Trafford – but no final decision has been made by Jewell yet, and staying at Brighton is also an option
The offer from Chelsea is explained to be a “global scouting role” in charge of negotiations for both the London-based outfit and Strasbourg.
With all the changes going on at United compared to the fire currently being burnt at Stamford Bridge, subbing the Blues for Old Trafford may be the preferred option for Jewell, but only time will tell.
