Bruno Fernandes set to ‘discuss his future’ with Manchester United amid Saudi Arabia interest

Bruno Fernandes is set to sit down with INEOS to discuss his future, with Manchester United’s captain still being heavily sought after by Saudi Arabian clubs.

During the summer transfer window, Bruno Fernandes was on the receiving end of heavy interest from Saudi Arabia, although the Manchester United captain decided to stay put.

United’s Portuguese maestro turned down the incredibly lucrative deals offered to him by the Saudi top-flight and opted to help his side in their bids for a UEFA Champions League spot.

Fernandes has been influential as ever for the Reds, especially since the appointment of Michael Carrick, and currently has 13 assists in the Premier League, as well as seven goals.

The 31-year-old has thrived since returning to the number ten role for the Red Devils, and is still attracting strong interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Fernandes set for INEOS talks

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, via The Peoples Person, Saudi sides are expected to come back for Fernandes in the summer, although United would rather he stay this time around.

“Top clubs from the Saudi Pro League are expected to come in again for Bruno Fernandes this summer but it’ll be up to Bruno on what he wants to do.”

According to TEAMtalk, the Portuguese midfielder is keen to stay put at Old Trafford yet again, with a meeting set to take place at the end of the season between Fernandes and INEOS.

“TEAMtalk understands that Bruno Fernandes is planning to sit down with Manchester United this summer to discuss his future, but sources close to the club suggest the Portuguese star is showing few signs of wanting to depart Old Trafford.”

Fernandes ‘pivotal’ to United’s future

Although under Ruben Amorim, fans of the Reds didn’t get to see all that Fernandes has to offer, since moving back to a more familiar role as an attacking midfielder, United’s captain has been quick to remind everyone just what he is capable of.

The report states that, “Talks are now due to take place at the end of the season, but increasingly it seems both sides will confirm their belief their futures are best served together.

“Indeed, sources indicate that, much like teammates Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire, Fernandes is now seen as a pivotal figure in the club’s vision, especially in the short to medium term.”

Having climbed up to third in the league table, a spot in next season’s Champions League seems increasingly likely for the Reds, and their captain will be pivotal to any success that may come their way.
