Bruno Fernandes raves about manager that’s “most suited” to Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes has been waxing lyrical about the manager who, according to statistical analysis, is the best-suited boss for the Manchester United job.
Manchester United are enduring a difficult spell, sitting 14th in the Premier League, and the pressure on Erik ten Hag continues to mount as fans increasingly call for his dismissal.
Out of their last six matches, United have secured just two wins—a resounding 7-0 victory over League One’s Barnsley and a 3-0 win against Southampton, a result heavily influenced by André Onana’s crucial penalty save.

Draws against FC Twente and FC Porto, paired with heavy 3-0 home defeats to both Liverpool and Tottenham, have only deepened the concerns about Ten Hag’s ability to steer the club forward. However, a recent draw with Aston Villa has offered the manager a slight reprieve.
While Ten Hag’s future is far from certain, many fans and pundits have been speculating as to who may take over from the Dutchman should he be fired. While Ruud van Nistelrooy has been touted as the short-term solution, reports have pointed to Thomas Tuchel as the favoured replacement.
However, according to the statistical analysis below, which pits the objective performance levels of different football managers against each other, Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim comes out on top.
Amorim has been making waves across Portuguese and European football ever since he signed to manage the Liga Portugal side, and he was linked with a move to West Ham in the summer. A Premier League job offer in the near future is thought to be on the cards.
Amorim’s Sporting side have won their last eight games in a row, and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was asked to comment on the Portuguese manager in light of his team’s recent success.
“Since Mister Amorim arrived at Sporting, it has been one of the teams to play the best football,” the former Sporting midfielder replied, as quoted by CNN Portugal.
“They have been consistent, the signings have been right, and they are in a very good moment. It’s a very well-prepared team.
“In relation to Amorim, he shows that he is prepared at this moment. Coaching Sporting and winning championships is not easy, Sporting went 20 years without winning championships and Amorim arrived and has already won two, this shows that the work has been done well.
“If he could manage to do the same in England, Spain or anywhere else, you will never know until you get there, but I’m sure their qualities are there for everyone to see.”
