Manchester United are said to have made their third bid for Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Manchester United have been gunning for Mason Mount for several months, and have made two bids before Friday afternoon, with both bids being rejected by Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag is said to be keen to have the player in his midfield ranks, with Mount pushing for the move and confirming to Chelsea that he doesn’t want to sign a new contract.

According to David Ornstein, the bid is worth £50 million plus another £5m in add-ons, after Chelsea asked for £60m plus another £7m in add-ons.

Manchester United initially bid £40m for the player, which Chelsea rejected, and an improved second offer worth up to £50m was also sent back.

It has been reported by The Times that this may well be United’s final bid for the midfielder, with the club reluctant to be fleeced for cash or let the deal drag on longer than it needs to.

Erik ten Hag would like to have Mason Mount in his new squad by the time his team return to pre-season training.

The squad are due to return to training in two phases from the beginning of July.
