BREAKING: Jose Mourinho ‘keen’ to work with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in ‘sensational’ Man United return
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ‘keen’ to rejoin the club and work with the new sporting leadership under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
That is according to information from MailOnline reporter Mike Keegan, who added that sources close to the manager say Mourinho feels like he has ‘unfinished business’ at Old Trafford.
He was sacked in December 2018 after a defeat to Liverpool, with Ole Gunnar Solskjær taking over at the helm.
Mourinho has ‘made it his mission’ to take charge at the Theatre of Dreams again should the opportunity arise. He was recently let go as manager of AS Roma, where he won the UEFA Conference League title.
It was added that the Portuguese manager is said to work with the new regime at United, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS taking over footballing operations. They have already snatched Omar Berrada from Manchester City to be the new chief executive leading the restart.
“His ambition is to return to United,’ a friend of Jose Mourinho told MailOnline. “He feels like he has unfinished business there, after how it ended last time, and he had made it his mission to go back.”
