“Best option…” – Owen Hargreaves praises three Manchester United stars after Viktoria Plzen win

Owen Hargreaves was full of praise for three Manchester United stars after the 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.

Manchester United struggled to impress for much of the game, with Ruben Amorim’s side making numerous mistakes.

The first half was characterised by sloppy play, preventing the Reds from gaining momentum as it ended goalless at the break.

Early in the second half, Viktoria Plzen capitalised on a significant error by André Onana to take the lead.

This sparked a response from Amorim’s team, who improved notably with the help of substitutes. Rasmus Højlund secured the comeback, scoring twice to seal an important victory.

Owen Hargreaves praises United trio

Former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves was quick to praise several United stars after the 2-1 victory.

After Højlund’s amazing impact from the bench, Hargreaves suggested that he is now definitely Amorim’s best striker.

He also believes that Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes will be integral going forward, with both players the clear creators for United.

“Rasmus Hojlund is Ruben Amorim’s best option down the middle, that is for sure,” Hargreaves said on TNT Sports.

“I think Amorim had that idea beforehand as Viktor Gyokeres [at Sporting] is a really similar profile in terms of physicality and size. Hojlund is a great athlete as well.

“There are things that himself and Joshua Zirkzee can work on but right now it is Hojlund, Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes are the ones creating opportunities for United.”

Of course, it was Amad who created Højlund’s first goal before Fernandes’ smart free-kick assisted the winner.

Amorim is expected to rotate against Manchester City on the weekend, but these three players should all be hoping to start as they continue their good form.
