Benjamin Šeško replacement obvious as ‘the glue’ star starts: Man Utd predicted XI vs Everton (Premier League)

Rúben Amorim will have to make a few changes as Manchester United line up to face Everton in the Premier League on Monday evening.

As the November international break wraps up, Rúben Amorim has shifted his focus back to Manchester United and their Monday night clash with Everton.

United are seventh in the Premier League, sitting on the same points as Tottenham in fifth. They remain just one point behind Sunderland in fourth and two behind Chelsea in third.

Although the season began poorly, United have found stability in recent weeks. They are unbeaten in five straight matches and have lost only once in their last seven, giving them confidence as they push higher up the table.

Everton come into the game 13th, having registered two wins, two losses, and a draw from their previous five outings. Their 2–0 defeat to Fulham before the break has not lowered spirits within David Moyes’ squad as they prepare for the trip to Old Trafford.

Injuries to force changes vs Everton

In the last few gameweeks, Amorim has tinkered with his starting XI to best combat opposition strengths, but against Everton, injuries will force his hand. However, Senne Lammens is set to remain in goal after making his international debut last week.

In defence, Harry Maguire is expected to miss the Everton fixture following a hamstring injury. This will force the United head coach to move Matthijs de Ligt to the middle of the back three, with Leny Yoro replacing him on the right. Luke Shaw, who has been fantastic, will remain on the left.

As for the wing-backs, United’s home advantage and good form will likely lead Amorim to want his side to dominate, shaping his wing-back options. Amad is expected to start on the right flank, with Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu on the left.

Against Tottenham, Casemiro had to come off due to a heavy knock, but he played well and scored for Brazil last week with no major issues. He’s expected to remain in the starting XI in the middle of the park, joined by Bruno Fernandes.

As far as the front three go, Benjamin Šeško has been ruled out for around three weeks with a knee injury, which will force Amorim into multiple possible changes.

Presumably, the 22-year-old would have started up front had he not suffered his injury, but although Matheus Cunha would be the natural replacement, he’s reportedly suffered an “accident” in training, with no further details having emerged as of yet.

Should the 26-year-old be unavailable against Everton, Joshua Zirkzee then becomes the obvious replacement up front.

Bryan Mbuemo is nailed on to start on the right flank to continue his fantastic partnership with Amad, and if Cunha is selected to start through the middle, Mason Mount is the clear option to return to the starting XI.

Mount was fantastic at the start of the season, even being labelled the ‘glue’ of United by Gary Neville last month, but has not had many starts due to United’s lack of games. However, with midweek fixtures returning soon, he will certainly have the chance to re-establish himself in the front line.
