Bayern Munich star breaks silence on transfer speculation after ‘being offered’ to Manchester United

One Bayern Munich star has broken his silence on transfer speculation ahead of the summer after being offered to Manchester United.

Manchester United are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, with major reinforcements needed across several areas of the squad.

Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap have been identified as primary targets to address the attacking struggles under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

The club is also looking to strengthen the midfield and wingback roles, with expected player sales helping to support these transfer plans.

Although the immediate focus is on the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, work is already underway behind the scenes to line up potential signings.

Palhinha breaks silence on transfer speculation after United links

It has recently been reported that United have been offered the chance to sign João Palhinha from Bayern Munich this summer, with his agent reaching out to potential suitors.

Palhinha was previously linked with an Old Trafford move before he decided to join the Bundesliga giants but he has fell out of favour under Vincent Kompany in his debut season, being limited to just nine starts in all competitions across the campaign.

The German club are reportedly open to selling him, with United among those keeping an eye on the situation, but the 29-year-old does not want to give up on his Bayern future so soon.

Speaking on the weekend after their title celebrations, Palhinha made it clear that he wants to stay and fight for his place under Kompany.

“It wasn’t easy. My injury didn’t help me, and, when I came back, Leon was playing well. So it wasn’t easy to get playing time,” he said, as per Hammers.News.

“I want to stay. Why not? I’m at one of the best clubs in the world. Just because things weren’t going well for me in my first year doesn’t mean I want to leave again! This only gives me more will to keep fighting. I want more.

“If there’s anyone who wants to change my situation and prove their worth, it’s me.”

United are missing key midfield profile

Despite there being so many issues at Old Trafford, it feels like the centre of midfield is creeping up the priority list heading into the summer.

Christian Eriksen is expected to leave the club while Casemiro’s future remains uncertain regardless of his recent form. Kobbie Mainoo’s exact position in Amorim’s system is also up in the air, with the teenager playing more often in the no.10 positions.

Manuel Ugarte joined the club last summer but there are question marks over his ability to be a consistent starter for United in the long-term.

At least one midfielder needs to be brought in this summer and it seems like they need to be able to conduct the play from deep. The last two natural defensive midfielders the club had were Nemanja Matic and Michael Carrick.

Casemiro and Ugarte joined the club with that tag and they have both looked much better when playing slightly more advanced. That conductor has escaped Old Trafford for too long.
