Manchester United are looking to continue their good form as they travel to face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

After a slow start to the season, Rasmus Højlund‘s good form perfectly coincided with Manchester United‘s rise in results, having won four games and drawn one across 2024.

After thumping West Ham 3-0 last weekend, Erik ten Hag‘s men will be looking up in the Premier League table as they take on another side just above them in the Champions League places.

They will now turn their eyes to Aston Villa as they travel to face the side who sit in fourth position, eight points ahead of Ten Hag’s men. Below, UtdDistrict previews the tie.

Team News

Manchester United are likely to welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the matchday squad in the coming days as the right-back recovers from a leg problem – although Lisandro Martínez has returned to the injury table and faces an eight-week absence.

Victor Lindelöf made his return to action during the West Ham win, with Harry Amass training with the first-team squad for the first time on Wednesday.

Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia continue to rehabilitate on grass, while Anthony Martial is out until April.

A HUGE statement

A win against Aston Villa would help Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United team provide a huge statement for the second half of the season.

United currently sit sixth in the league, and eight points off the top four positions, with Aston Villa the side in fourth – although Tottenham sit just two points behind the Birmingham-based club in fifth.

A win against Unai Emery’s side would help Ten Hag’s club climb within five points, and would also provide a huge statement of intent and prove that the recent resurgence in form is not yet another false dawn.
