Argentina media assess Alejandro Garnacho performance after completing major milestone
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has received massive praise from outlets within Argentina.
Coming off the bench during Thursday’s match between Argentina and Chile, Garnacho, 20, took on the honour of representing his national team at home for the first time in his career.
Despite being limited to a cameo of a little over ten minutes on international duty, Garnacho impressed with his minutes, assisting Paulo Dybala as Argentina went on to win 3-0.
The United and Argentina attacker was congratulated by the Argentina boss Lionel Scanoli, who said the forward did, “everything well.”
Garnacho’s appearance for the national team drew praise and acknowledgement from several sources within Argentina, including Ole, who pointed out how United’s #17, ‘waited and wished’ for the opportunity.
Similarly pointing out how much the moment must have meant to Garnacho was Todo Noticias who wrote the following:
“The Manchester United striker came on in the 79th minute and was able to fulfil one of his childhood dreams.”
Finally, TyC Sports said that the attacker “made the most of his minutes to show his worth.”
Garnacho’s appearance for Argentina was his seventh time representing his national team. The United winger had previously represented the nation at U20s level, as well as representing Spain U18s before making the decision to play for Argentina.
Also playing for Argentina against Chile was fellow United star Lisandro Martinez, with Martinez playing 79 minutes, before being substituted for Marcos Acuña.
