Antony has finally learned Manchester United’s stance on any potential January transfer interest in him after his agent admitted that “many clubs” have approached the player.

Antony arrived at Manchester United in the summer of 2022 for a hefty £85 million fee, as Erik ten Hag sought to reunite with his former Ajax player.

The winger made an impressive start to his United career, scoring in each of his first three Premier League matches, including a debut goal in a 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

However, Antony’s form soon declined, as he struggled to deliver consistent performances and lacked impact in the final third.

Since those initial three games, he has managed just nine goals and five assists across 93 appearances for the club, leaving questions about his long-term impact at Old Trafford.

Antony’s stance on United exit

It has already been well explained that Antony is now open to leaving United after his difficult spell at Old Trafford.

Fabrizio Romano spoke to Junior Pedroso, the player’s agent, who explained that the winger is open to leaving and that there is significant interest in him ahead of the mid-season window.

It has since been reported that Real Betis are interested in a potential loan deal for Antony next month, while also taking a percentage of his £200,000-a-week wages.

However, Pedroso importantly clarified that the 24-year-old has never received any communication from the club that they would like him to leave.

He explained that Antony is prepared to fight for his place at Old Trafford if that continues, with no intention to push himself out of the door unless he is told that he’s no longer needed.

Antony learns United’s stance on January exit

With the January transfer window soon approaching, it appears that United may have finally made their mind up on the future of Antony.

Fresh reports from Fabrizio Romano explains that United are now open to sanctioning an exit for the Brazilian should a ‘good proposal’ arrive in January. It was not clarified if this included a potential loan exit.

“For Antony, his agent mentioned for the first time how Antony could leave Man United based on what Man United want to do,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“My information is that if a good proposal arrives in January then Man United would be open to finding the solution for Antony, so there could be movements around Man United.”

Romano also warned United fans that the mid-season window will not be incredibly busy in terms of incomings for the club, who are waiting to strike next summer.

“Man United’s main focus is on the summer transfer window,” the Italian journalist continued. “They know they can’t change the whole squad in January, it’s not going to be a super busy January for Man United, forget about that.

“They will try to do something but it will be based on opportunities, it is not guaranteed that there will be many things.”
