Ander Herrera’s emotional message for Manchester United fans after pre-season draw

Ander Herrera expressed his happiness at representing Manchester United during his football career after his former and current sides clashed in pre-season.
On Sunday, Manchester United and Athletic Bilbao shared the spoils in Dublin after a late equalizer from Facundo Pellistri negated Bilbao’s first-half goal.
Erik ten Hag and his men will now return to England to prepare for their Premier League encounter against Wolves, scheduled to take place later next week. The Dutch manager fielded an interesting team, mixed with both experienced and academy players.

On his return to the team, Harry Maguire turned from zero to hero as his final pass led to Pellistri finding the back of the net. Earlier in the first half, Bilbao capitalized on a missed pass from Maguire and opened the scoring.
Ander Herrera, the Spanish midfielder who donned United’s colours back in the mid-2010s, came on as a second-half substitute. Since his departure from the club in 2019, Herrera has always been supportive of the club and has seldom talked about his time at Old Trafford.
Talking to the club media after the match, the 33-year-old reflected on his time at Manchester United. Singing the praises of the fans, Herrera reminisced about his tenure at the club and stated that he still loves and supports the club and its fans.
“It’s always great to play in front of these fans, I’ve done it so many times, and I’m always proud to do it,” he said, with an emotional smile on his face. “Today in Dublin, they showed me their support and their love. They know I feel the same for them and the club.
“I am so happy to have called myself a Manchester United player, that stays with you for life.”
The former PSG player also took the time to wish both clubs a good season ahead.
