“An extraordinary club…” – Bundesliga boss claims he wants Manchester United job amid Rúben Amorim pressure

Rúben Amorim has come under pressure in recent weeks, and a Bundesliga manager has now claimed he would love to take the Manchester United job in his place.

Manchester United have struggled at the beginning of this season. The club is ranked among the best for many promising statistics, but the results haven’t followed just yet.

Rúben Amorim has come under pressure since the loss to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, and United are yet to make serious changes for the better, although the win against Chelsea is a big positive.

Now, United are preparing to face Brentford in another must-win game for Amorim if he wants to remain in charge at Old Trafford.

The next games, against Brentford, Sunderland, and Liverpool, will be crucial in Amorim’s future at United, especially since a manager has now claimed he wants to take charge of the Red Devils.

Toppmöller admits he wants United role

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller has recently admitted that he once dreamed of coaching United, and he would be unlikely to turn down a move if it became a possibility.

The German side has been exceptional in recent years, as they finished in third place last season, ahead of Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

In a recent interview with SportBild, Toppmöller said: “Basically, it’s a dream to be at Eintracht now. It’s simply a fantastic club.

“Here, as a teenager, I witnessed for the first time that my father was a Bundesliga coach. That naturally creates an emotional bond with a club.

“Thinking about abroad, I often played computer games as a child, always with one team: Manchester United. That would definitely be nice someday, because it’s an extraordinary club.

The Frankfurt manager went on to say: “When I was a teenager, Manchester United was, along with Real Madrid, the biggest club of all.”

Amorim must improve soon

While United are unlikely to appoint a new manager simply because one says he loves the club, it does put even more pressure on Amorim’s shoulders. He must improve soon.

United have shown signs that they could be making good progress under the former Sporting CP manager, but the Red Devils won’t be willing to wait too long for improvements.

Amorim needs results, and fast, or he could become the next promising manager to be ruined by a spell at Old Trafford.

The next games will be crucial in deciding his long-term future at the club, starting with the away trip to West London to take on Keith Andrew’s Brentford.
