Amad has shown Jonny Evans what his first major Manchester United decision must be after “incredible” performances

Manchester United are set to loan out Harry Amass this summer after impressing last season, and Amad has shown Jonny Evans where the left-back must be sent next season.

While selling players has been difficult for Manchester United this summer, with no permanent transfers out of the club yet, sending players on loan has appeared to be easy for Jonny Evans, as the new loan manager.

Several youngsters have already moved out on loan, allowing them to spend pre-season at their new clubs before the new season begins in early August.

Even Enzo Kana-Biyik, who joined United from Le Havre this summer, has moved out on loan and played for Laussane-Sport in pre-season, there is still a possibility that Sekou Kone will join him at the INEOS-owned clubs.

Loan moves can be crucial for a young player’s development, especially when opportunities are scarce, as they are at United, where the first team is performing poorly.

Amad, who spent two seasons away from Old Trafford, has demonstrated the benefits of a loan move, having since returned to United and become one of the best players since Amorim’s arrival.

Amass must be loaned to the Championship

One of Amad’s loan moves was to the Scottish Premiership for Rangers, but the Ivorian played just 13 games and only registered four goal contributions.

However, when the winger moved on loan to Sunderland, he made 42 appearances, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists. Amad’s loan to the Championship helped him improve tenfold, with the winger putting in some “incredible” performances at the Stadium of Light.

Before his loan, the now 23-year-old struggled in the tackle and lacked physicality, but after his season in England’s second division, he now fights for the ball like a shark hunting down its prey.

Harry Amass, like Amad when he first joined the club, struggles when playing against physical opposition due to his small frame, which limits his ability to showcase his full technical ability.

At just 18 years old, playing every week in the Premier League could prove to be challenging for Amass, so he should move to the Championship, as he is set to be moved on loan, as per BBC Sport’s Simon Stone.

Leon set for first team game time

With Amass set for a loan move, Diego Leon could be thrown into the first team sooner than many fans imagined after his move was confirmed earlier this summer.

Leon, who is just 18 years old, looked set for academy football next season, similarly to Kone’s time in the under-21s last season, but Amass’ loan leaves just Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu as the only senior left back at the club.

Other options at left wing back are Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui, both could struggle for gametime next season if Amad is favoured at wing back, but the Moroccan could be an option on the right side of central defence for Amorim.

Bendito Mantato could also be an option at wing back, having played as both a winger and a left back, but he will be more likely to play on the right side and cut in from the wing onto his stronger left foot, like Amad.
