Napoli readying improved Alejandro Garnacho bid with Manchester United transfer warning attached
Napoli are readying a new bid for Alejandro Garnacho but have issued a transfer warning to Manchester United after their initial efforts were rejected.
Manchester United are aiming to offload several players during the January transfer window as they seek to improve cash flow ahead of a crucial summer.
Rúben Amorim’s side have begun 2025 on a stronger footing, securing a draw against Liverpool, overcoming Arsenal on penalties in the FA Cup, and dispatching Southampton 3-1, courtesy of a stunning 12-minute hat-trick from Amad.
Despite this upturn in form, their activity in the transfer market has been sluggish, even as the team urgently need reinforcements at left-back, in midfield, and in attack.
Amorim has made it clear to the press that he is eager to retain as much of his current squad as possible. However, Manchester United are prepared to move on several players before the window closes, with the majority of exits likely to come in the form of loan deals.
Napoli readying new Garnacho offer
One man who has seen speculation swirl surrounding his future is Alejandro Garnacho, who is generating interest from Napoli and Chelsea.
United are already said to have rejected an offer of £38 million including bonuses from Napoli for Garnacho, but according to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A giants are now ready to send in an improved bid.
It’s stated that they would now be prepared to offer as much as £42 million for the player, although this still sits far below United’s demands of over £60 million for the 20-year-old.
According to the report, Manager Antonio Conte has pinpointed Garnacho as his ideal transfer to replace the departing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and the club have nearly reached an agreement on personal terms with the winger.
Napoli have issued a transfer warning to United
However, Corriere dello Sport further explained that Napoli have sent a warning to United that they will not wait around for a postponed reply as they are in a hurry to replace Kvaratskhelia.

They have also identified Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez as an alternative to Garnacho, although he is just one of multiple names.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Garnacho is not pushing to leave United in January after he has started the side’s last two games.
United signed Garnacho from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 for around £420,000.
