Alejandro Garnacho told he has ‘X-factor’ like three Manchester United legends
Alejandro Garnacho has elevated his game in recent weeks and has locked down the left-wing position in Manchester United’s lineup.
The Argentine teenager has two goals and an assist in his last four United appearances, which includes his excellent overhead kick against Everton.
Last time out, at Old Trafford against Chelsea, Garnacho produced the magic moment as his whipped cross found Scott McTominay for the winning goal midway through the second half.
He is also gaining confidence playing from the start of games. Last term, he was mainly impactful when appearing from the bench for Erik ten Hag’s side but not so much when placed in the starting XI.
The winger possesses many ‘United’ qualities, whether that be his energy, trickery, willingness to take on his full-back all game or even his slight arrogance.
Former United defender Mikael Silvestre has suggested that Garnacho has a similar ‘X-factor’ to prior club legends like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs, but stresses that there are developments he must make in his game still.
“He has the X-factor but he is still a long way from, Beckham, Ronaldo, Giggs and so on,” Silvestre told bettingexpert.com.
“His stats will improve, but he has a lot of work to do. He is fighting for the team, and he has the right mentality, so I think his goal and assist contribution will increase.
“Garnacho is young, so he needs more experience and more games to develop. Sometimes he is a bit erratic and he is rushing into challenges, where he is not making the right decisions.
“But that’s how it is with young players and we just have to be patient and Erik ten Hag has to be patient as well.
“With time and experience he will be more consistent, also in his decision making. The manager is demanding a lot from him but he needs to just stay focused and his basics needs to be right because he is over complicating things a bit.”
