Alejandro Garnacho tempted by a move to Real Madrid as new contract talks continue
Manchester United’s academy has seen some big investments in recent seasons, with the club splashing the cash on signings such as Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez in recent seasons to add to the academy’s current talent crop.
However, it’s Alejandro Garnacho who has made the most impact of any youth player on Erik ten Hag’s team squad, scoring two goals and assisting two so far this season – including a brilliant 90+3′ winner against Fulham.
The young winger has been making serious waves in the football world so far this season with his performances and has piqued the interest of the Spanish super-club, Real Madrid.
However, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United ‘remain relaxed over Alejandro Garnacho’s future’ despite the interest from Los Blancos. Garnacho currently has a contract which sees him tied to the club until 2024 – a contract that he signed at the age of 17 last July.
The club are said to be keen to reward the progress he has made over the course of the last few seasons and are confident that a new deal will be signed, but are in no rush to do so.
With Garnacho displaying aspects of his game that could take him to the very top of world football, he was unlucky to miss out on being selected for Argentina’s 2022 World Cup squad, after being called up for some of their previous international fixtures within the last six months.
