Al-Nassr looking to secure deadline-day swoop of Manchester United target who could be Rúben Amorim’s “perfect fit”

Al-Nassr have joined Manchester United and a list of other clubs who have shown interest in signing a Paris St. Germain star.

Manchester United have made a very quick start to this summer’s transfer window as Ruben Amorim’s transformation of his squad gets underway.

With Matheus Cunha already through the door, and Bryan Mbeumo looking like an imminent signing, the rejuvenation of the front line looks well underway.

With the club looking to move on the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho, Amorim is keen to sign even more reinforcements for the attacking third.

With United working on a tight budget this transfer window, they will be looking to sign proven players or those nearing the end of their contracts at a lower cost.

Al-Nassr in for United target Lee

As previously reported, Manchester United was among the clubs interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Lee Kang-in, and they now face competition from several other clubs despite the player being touted as a “perfect fit” for Amorim.

As reported by SportsZone, Al-Nassr have contacted the Parisian club about signing the Korean forward, with the Saudi club wanting to strengthen their side with the talented 24-year-old.

His contract runs until 2028, and despite reports that contract extension talks between the player and the club have broken down, there are no signs that the player wants to leave. However, with the player’s lack of commitment, it could open the door to a summer move away.

Lee’s playing time has suffered drastically this season, with the January signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué’s meteoric rise to stardom making minutes for the Korean hard to come by.

Should United prioritise other positions?

It’s clear to see that United are crying out for a no.9, with the duo of Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee massively underperforming this season.

With the signing of Cunha and the seemingly imminent arrival of Mbeumo, United already have depth in the wide 10 roles, so the signing of Lee, while being good for depth, is ultimately not a fully necessary signing.

With several midfielders leaving or expected to leave, Amorim needs to bring in some replacements in the middle of the park, who, most importantly, fit his tactical system.

Given United’s limited budget this summer, they need to target players who fit both Amorim’s tactical approach and the physical demands of the Premier League to return to European competition.
