Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s West Ham move “in jeopardy” due to “major concern”
According to reports, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s move from Manchester United to West Ham United is reportedly “in jeopardy” due to a financial concern.
Manchester United kicked off the 2024 transfer window with a bang, securing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and making a notable swoop for Leny Yoro from Lille, effectively beating Real Madrid to the young talent.
With these two signings totalling £88 million, the club must now sell players to continue their transfer activities. Departures from Erik ten Hag‘s squad have already begun, with Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and Alvaro Fernandez among those leaving.

Now, the club’s focus shifts to strengthening their squad further, specifically targeting a midfielder, right-back, and centre-back. Manchester United have been strongly linked with Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, although they need to sell first.
In order for Mazraoui to sign for the club, they have to secure the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The English defender has been routinely linked to West Ham United.
Although many thought that the move to West Ham was all but sealed, Claret and Hugh, an outlet that closely monitors West Ham, have claimed that the deal may be “in jeopardy”.
According to the report, Wan-Bissaka is open to a move to West Ham but is not actively seeking to leave United and is remaining firm on his financial expectations.
His representatives are pushing for United to allocate a portion of the £18 million transfer fee from West Ham to Wan-Bissaka so that the deal can be finalised this summer.
Furthermore, West Ham has indicated they “cannot accommodate” his current salary demands, as Wan-Bissaka earns around £90,000 per week at Old Trafford, which is a major concern.
All of this is said to be “causing a major issue” for the East London club, potentially jeopardizing the transfer. United will want this issue solved as soon as possible in order to bring in Mazraoui.
