4 dribbles, 3 chances created – Manchester United target stuns scouts with MOTM display in crazy game
Manchester United scouts would have been stunned by the performance of one target in the last week after a Man of the Match display.
Ruben Amorim prioritised reinforcements for Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window, with wingback a key focus.
To address this, United signed Patrick Dorgu for £25 million, handing him his debut at right wingback against Leicester City despite his natural preference for the left side.
However, fans will anticipate major summer signings due to the club’s position, as United chiefs continue to target promising young talents in line with recent transfer windows.
One player who has been strongly linked to the club is 17-year-old Sporting starlet Geovany Quenda, with some reports even claiming that an agreement has been reached between the clubs for a summer deal.
Quenda came through the ranks under Amorim in Portugal and was being used as his right wingback before United came in to snatch the manager.
Quenda stuns United scouts with MOTM display
Reports claim that United scouts were in attendance for Sporting’s latest league game against FC Porto, one that could end up proving crucial in the Liga Portugal race come the end of the season.
It was a mad game which saw Porto equalise in the 94th minute before two Sporting players were red carded in the final seconds of the clash.
Sporting’s opener came through the magic of Quenda, who glided past his man on the flank before his teasing low cross was put in by Iván Fresneda.
The teenager produced a standout performance, with claims of a Man of the Match display on the night even without the assist.
Quenda created three chances, more than any other player, and also completed four of his attempted dribbles. He also had three accurate crosses and three shots on goal.
United trying to get key profile
United have already signed Dorgu to bolster the wingback position and adding Quenda to the squad would be another good move to improving the most important position in the system.

However, it isn’t simply getting specialised wingbacks, but both of those players could also be considered exciting wing talents. In fact, Quenda played on the left-wing against Porto.
The Reds currently only have Alejandro Garnacho as a direct option who can run in behind players in the squad. Both Quenda and Dorgu have the capabilities to do similar for United, even from the wingback positions.
It was certainly help to solve one of the many issues that exist at Old Trafford at the moment.
