Rúben Amorim will have two further Manchester United stars at his disposal as he takes on David Moyes’ Everton in Atlanta.
Manchester United are set for their penultimate pre-season fixture of 2025, as Rúben Amorim shifts focus to their final Premier League Summer Series match against Everton.
After a 0-0 draw with Leeds United in Sweden two weeks ago, United headed to the United States to take part in the Summer Series.
They began with a 2-1 win over West Ham in New Jersey and followed that up with a dominant 4-1 victory over Bournemouth in Chicago.
Their final game of the tournament comes against Everton in Atalanta, before returning home to face Fiorentina at Old Trafford, just seven days before kicking off the new Premier League season against Arsenal at the same ground.
Cunha and Mbeumo available for Amorim
So far, United fans have had the opportunity to see new signing Matheus Cunha in action twice, against Leeds United and West Ham. However, Amorim left him out of the squad against Bournemouth, citing fatigue and the need to manage the Brazilian’s minutes as the reasons.
However, with no apparent injury problems, the 26-year-old looks set to return to the starting XI for the club’s third and final game in the United States.
The Everton tie also likely represents an unofficial debut for United’s other major signing, Bryan Mbeumo, who joined for an initial £65 million fee from Brentford a few weeks ago.
Despite having travelled to the United States on the plane, the Cameroon international is behind on his pre-season schedule. However, Amorim stated after the 2-1 win over West Ham that he hopes the 25-year-old will be able to play against Everton.
Maguire missing from training after two substitutions
Harry Maguire is expected to play a big role in defence next season, as Amorim sees him as a “key player” within the squad.
However, the England international has been substituted prematurely in two of the club’s three pre-season fixtures so far, and was not spotted in training following the Bournemouth win, where he came off at half-time.

There has been little news on Maguire’s fitness since the Bournemouth fixture, beyond the fact that his substitution against Bournemouth was planned. Amorim also admitted after the game that the centre-back had struggled with an issue during the off-season.
However, United received good news earlier this week when it was announced that Joshua Zirkzee, André Onana, and Lisandro Martínez had all returned to light training, having so far missed all pre-season fixtures.
Despite suffering a hamstring tear on the second day of pre-season training, Onana has an outside chance of appearing against Fiorentina next weekend at Old Trafford. At the same time, Zirkzee is also close to fitness and is on a similar timeline.
