“You’re doing brilliant…” – Wayne Rooney provides big praise to Man United youngster on same agency

Wayne Rooney has provided direct praise to Manchester United academy starlet Shea Lacey, who represents the same agency as the United legend.

Rooney, 38, is the Old Trafford club’s top goalscorer and one of their biggest legends. The ex-forward originated from Liverpool and was signed from Everton in 2004.

16-year-old Lacey also grew up in Liverpool but joined The Reds at a much earlier stage. He is currently one of the most highly-rated players within the academy set-up.

The winger has two goals and four assists in eight appearances so far this term but has been out of action with an injury in recent months.

Lacey was spotted watching United’s Under-18s win against Leeds on Saturday and is expected to return to action soon.

His older brother Paddy, who is also a boxer, uploaded a video on social media of Shea speaking to Rooney on a video call.

The clip shows Rooney say: “Keep doing what you’re doing mate, you’re doing brilliant,” he then added, speaking to someone off camera, “Is Shea going to be the one?”

Last summer, Lacey signed up to Triple S agency for representation. It was reported that he attracted interest from several top agencies at the time.

Triple S agency also represents current United defender Harry Maguire, as well as Rooney himself.
