Manchester United are looking to sign at least one goalkeeper in the summer transfer window for Ruben Amorim’s squad at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have had a disappointing season and several players have underperformed under the leadership of Ruben Amorim.
André Onana produced a terrible display against Lyon in the Europa League and that follows on from some extremely questionable form from the goalkeeper.
Reports have suggested that United are looking to move him on in the summer, with potential interest from the Saudi Pro League, and that means a replacement would need to be found.
Even if the Cameroon shot-stopper remains at Old Trafford, the Reds would still likely need to bolster in the goalkeeping department as Altay Bayındır could leave and Tom Heaton may retire.
Lammens breaks silence on United links
One of the potential goalkeeping targets for United has been reported as Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who is a consistent starter for the Jupiler Pro League side.
In fact, the rumours surrounding Lammens have been around for several months now and the 22-year-old goalkeeper has even reacted to the links.
“The first time I heard it, I thought: wow, Immediately a world team that follows you. That is special. Of course I was also asked about it a lot and when I made a save in training,” he told Gazet van Antwerpen in February.
“Those top clubs have so many scouts and follow so many players. So it doesn’t have to mean anything yet. It will only become clear in the summer whether anything will come of it. But of course, it is only positive.
“Especially because it is about the best competition in the world and my profile – my stature and way of playing – is suitable for English football. You have to physically hold your own there and that suits me.
Goalkeeper has suddenly became United priority
Potentially needing a new starting ‘keeper is something that United could really do with avoiding for another year or two.
There are many positions that need strengthening at Old Trafford and it seemed like the man between the sticks wasn’t towards the top of that list until recently.

Yet, the performances of Onana in goal have seemingly made this position something that United can’t really ignore for too long.
Whether it is Lammens or someone else, it would be no surprise to see United strengthen their goalkeeping department heavily in the summer window.
