Alejandro Garnacho has returned to training as Manchester United look to play Brighton in the Premier League on Thursday.

After facing off in the FA Cup semi-final two weeks ago, it was Victor Lindelof who sent Manchester United through to the final with a winning penalty, as Brighton saw their cup dream come to an end.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men will no doubt be looking to grab revenge on Erik ten Hag and his squad, with the fixture taking place at the Amex stadium.

Manchester United

The question on most United fans’ lips is simple: is Alejandro Garnacho available? The answer is also simple: “No.”

Despite signing a new five-year contract with the club a few days ago, Erik ten Hag confirmed in his recent press conference that this fixture comes too soon for the young star.

“I think we have one training [session], but I think it’s too soon to be available,” admitted Ten Hag. “I think he is short [of full fitness]. I think he needs some training and then, in short notice, he will be available.”

In other news, Donny van de Beek recently spoke to MUTV about his recovery.

“I’m busy with my recovery after my injury and everything is going well. It’s hard to give you a time but we have to see how everything goes,” he said.

“I’m doing a lot of gym work and getting closer to being on the pitch, which is positive. I’m not far away.”

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane continue their rehabilitation after injuries ruled them out until the end of the season, with Ten Hag saying there is “no chance” Martinez will be fit for the FA Cup final against Manchester City. Scott McTominay also continues to be absent.

Other than this, there are no fresh injury concerns for the Red Devils.

Brighton

Brighton’s greatest concern is not a player, but instead their manager, De Zerbi.

Currently suffering from illness, the Italian had to cancel his appearance at Brighton’s pre-match press conference, with assistant Andrea Maldera answering the questions instead.

Defender Joel Veltman limped off in the second half of their tie against Wolves, while Evan Ferguson is also a doubt to face United.
