‘Where does he play?’ – Paul Scholes confused over Man United player’s instructions
Paul Scholes has admitted that he is confused by the instructions that are given to Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United lost 1-0 against Newcastle.
Manchester United‘s 1-0 loss against Newcastle United on Saturday evening sent them to seventh in the Premier League table, with Anthony Gordon’s goal proving the difference between the two sides.
It was a game that Newcastle thoroughly dominated at St James’ Park, with Erik ten Hag‘s men never looking like they were going to take any points, let alone all three.

Paul Scholes, legendary Manchester United midfielder, has admitted after the game that he is confused at the instructions given to Bruno Fernandes.
“He has fantastic ability, but I would love to be in the dressing room before a game and see what the manager asks him to do,” Scholes said.
“What position is he asking him to play? I see him as a No.10, it’s his best position because he can pass and score a goal. Where was he this evening? He was never in this position. I see him on the left, on the right. Sometimes, he’s the lowest player.
“I don’t think it’s healthy for the team. We don’t know, maybe the manager tells him to do it, but it seems like he does what he wants on the pitch.”
Manchester United currently sit four points outside the Premier League top four spots heading into a heavy festive schedule and are winless against the current top six. This will need to be fixed if the club want to qualify for the Champions League next season.
