When is the FA Cup quarter-final draw? Manchester United ball number, how to watch, potential opponents
Manchester United will find out their FA Cup quarter-final fate as they host Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United turn their attention back to the FA Cup as they host Fulham at Old Trafford in the fifth round on Sunday.
Their journey in the competition has seen them edge past Arsenal in a tense penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, before a stoppage-time winner from Harry Maguire sealed a 2-1 victory over Leicester City.
Rúben Amorim’s side come into this tie off the back of a 3-2 Premier League win against Ipswich Town, though another shaky defensive performance has done little to ease concerns.
With United sitting 14th in the league, the FA Cup offers their most realistic route to Europa League qualification—unless they can go all the way in Europe and secure a Champions League spot.
When is the quarter-final draw?
Should United progress pass Fulham, they will be entered into the pot for the FA Cup quarter final draw.
The draw will take place at Old Trafford following the conclusion of the game, and will be streamed across the BBC’s live coverage and various social media channels.
What ball number would United be?
Whoever wins out of Fulham or Manchester United will be granted ball No. 4. There are no replays in the FA Cup this round, meaning a winner has to be determined on the night.
Should the tie be level after 90 minutes, the two clubs will play an extra 30, and should no winner be found then, they will engage in a penalty shootout.
Who are United’s potential opponents?
So far, one FA Cup game has already taken place, with Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa defeating Cardiff City 2-0 thanks to a brace from Marco Asensio. They are ball No. 2 in the draw.
