Ayden Heaven suffered an unfortunate injury during Manchester United’s latest fixture which has got fans concerned about when he will return.

Manchester United secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Leicester City last weekend, with Ruben Amorim’s side easing past the relegation-threatened side.

Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho scored goals to end their respective goal droughts, while Bruno Fernandes continued his fine form with an excellent strike.

There were other positives on the night especially relating to youth. Harry Amass made his first-team debut on his 18th birthday and Chido Obi came on for his fourth appearance of the season.

However, United’s joy was tempered when Ayden Heaven, who was the standout performer in the first-half, suffered a concerning ankle injury towards the beginning of the second period.

Fresh update on Heaven provided

United fans were extremely deflated when Heaven was stretchered off the pitch and it was not only because of his positive first-half performance.

The 18-year-old had looked very comfortable in all four of his appearances after joining the club from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

It looked like he would be set to miss the rest of the season after coming off but United fans did get a hint of positive news when it was reported that he left the King Power Stadium wearing a protective boot, but without using crutches.

Now, the latest information from Laurie Whitwell has given even further good news for those concerned about Heaven’s condition.

The Athletic’s reporter has revealed that the teenager has been without a protective boot at Carrington since the game and suggests that this could mean he’s back shortly after the international break.

“Ayden Heaven has been at Carrington without a protective boot. You just surmise from that, it’s not going to be too long after the international break that he returns hopefully,” he told the Talk of the Devils podcast.

When Heaven could make United return

It is extremely good news that Heaven could be available after the break and Amorim will be pleased with the amount of games coming up.

The Reds face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday 1 April, which might end up being too soon for Heaven if Amorim wants to be careful with him.

After that, the defender could end up being available for the important stretch of games which includes United’s two-legged clash in the Europa League against Lyon.

United face rivals Manchester City on Sunday 6 April and then the two games against the French outfit (10 & 17 April) are sandwiching an away trip to Newcastle on Sunday 13 April.

Those important games will take a lot out of the United squad but thankfully it seems like Heaven is set to be involved in some capacity for those set of matches.
