Thiago Motta has already been asked about Joshua Zirkzee as rumours about his Manchester United future continue to grow.

Manchester United’s form under Ruben Amorim has been inconsistent, with only four victories in his first 10 matches.

While some players have thrived under his system, others have struggled to adapt, making it clear that the 39-year-old manager will need reinforcements to fully implement his vision.

Among those yet to make a significant impact under Amorim is summer signing Joshua Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna for around £35 million.

With four goals and two assists in 26 appearances this season, Zirkzee’s performances have already created doubts about his long-term future at the club.

Romano reveals Zirkzee transfer situation

Rumors have been swirling in recent months about the 23-year-old forward, with strong links to a potential move to Juventus.

Such a transfer would reunite him with Thiago Motta, the manager who played a key role in his success at Bologna.

According to Fabrizio Romano, both Motta and Juventus are “closely monitoring” Zirkzee’s situation at Old Trafford.

“Many links are also in the press about Joshua Zirkzee,” the Italian journalist wrote in his GiveMeSport column.

“The truth is that Italian clubs, especially Juventus where his former coach Thiago Motta is in charge, are closely monitoring his situation at Man United.”

Motta asked about Zirkzee transfer rumours

Motta was asked about the prospect of reuniting with his former striker Zirkzee in the January transfer window earlier this month.

However, the Juventus boss refused to acknowledge the rumours, simply claiming that he is ‘in total harmony’ with the decision makers at the Italian club.

“The market will open in January and we are in total harmony with the club,” Motta told reporters.

“I am very happy with the players I have. I hope that the injured players can return soon to be able to help the rest of the team.”
