What Harry Maguire told Manchester United teammates about Ruben Amorim struggles as dressing room feelings revealed

Harry Maguire has reportedly told Manchester United teammates a clear message about the club’s struggles under Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United have made their worst start to a Premier League season since 1992/93, taking just four points from their first four fixtures.

That year, the Reds managed to recover and go on to win the first of their 13 league titles, but such a turnaround seems highly unlikely this time.

Defeats against Manchester City and Arsenal, a draw with Fulham, and a single win over Burnley have exposed their poor form, while a shock Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town has deepened the frustration.

Ruben Amorim’s inflexible approach and questionable team selections are under heavy scrutiny, with Chelsea up next at Old Trafford.

What Maguire told United teammates about Amorim struggles

With the results being poor, it feels like pressure on Amorim has ramped up in recent days. He needs to figure out a way to turn things around.

But, as reported by talkSPORT, United defender Harry Maguire – as well as other senior players – has made it clear to teammates that they are underperforming as a squad.

Amorim’s tactical approach is being heavily criticised in the media but there are also some extremely poor mistakes being made in games by the players.

The third goal from City last weekend came after Manuel Ugarte and Luke Shaw miscommunicated and lost the ball on the halfway line, giving Erling Haaland all of the space in the world to run into and score.

Many fans have often blamed players for not taking responsibility when managers are being criticised for results in the past. The aforementioned report added that the United dressing room remains behind Amorim.

Amorim must get the most out of Fernandes

United’s struggles are not just on Amorim. As mentioned before, there have been plenty of errors in these opening games that cannot be attributed to the manager or tactics.

But that does not mean he doesn’t need to improve, just like the players. Amorim’s priority right now needs to be to get the best out of his players, particularly Bruno Fernandes.

The club captain is not excelling in the two-man midfield right now and he either needs to be moved into the frontline or United must move to a midfield three.

There are other things Amorim must look at improving too, but getting your standout players to thrive is always a priority for any manager, and that has to be what he looks at doing now.
