“What a player…” – Alejandro Garnacho sends extraordinary praise to Manchester United teammate after Arsenal heroics
Alejandro Garnacho was full of praise for one impressive Manchester United star after the team’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal on the weekend.
Manchester United and Arsenal played to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes’ stunning free-kick opening the scoring before Declan Rice netted a late equaliser.
It was a game where United showed defensive strength even with changes made to the backline. Harry Maguire was injured and so Victor Lindelöf stepped in.
Ayden Heaven was also introduced at half-time due to Leny Yoro suffering a knock. It was the 18-year-old’s first Premier League appearance.
The teenager impressed in his cameo, dealing with any Arsenal attacks on his side and also looking comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Garnacho sends big praise to Heaven
Heaven has made a positive impression in his two appearances for United since joining in the January window.
The Reds secured the signing of Heaven from Arsenal for around £1 million and the early signs suggest that it could end up being a very smart move.
United’s new defender took to Instagram after the game to react to making his Premier League debut against his former side.
Alejandro Garnacho was quick to respond to his teammate, commenting: “What a player 🔥”.
Chido Obi and Joshua Zirkzee were also among those in the replies, as was Arsenal academy superstar Max Dowman.
Garnacho himself had a promising display against The Gunners, winning the free-kick Fernandes scored from with some direct play.
Heaven shows he’s ready to contribute
Heaven’s recent displays suggest that he is ready for more involvement and he could be very useful on the left side of defence.
Not only is the defender left-footed, but he also has shown good comfortability in possession that can help United.

He is certainly not the finished product yet, but he looks physically and mentally ready to compete for the team, especially considering there is little to play for in the Premier League.
It feels pointless using someone like Victor Lindelöf over the teenager, with the Swedish centre-back set to leave the club in the summer window.
