“We’ve had…” – Eddie Howe copies Ruben Amorim’s transfer message, Benjamin Sesko’s response is clear

Eddie Howe has copied the transfer message shared by Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim amid developments in the Benjamin Sesko deal.

Manchester United have managed to sign Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo so far this summer and are looking for more additions before the window closes.

They have been interested in Benjamin Sesko in recent weeks, alongside fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle, who have been ready to make an offer for some time now.

The Geordies have had a difficult window so far, with Eddie Howe’s side missing out on many key targets, including Mbeumo to United.

Despite their status as a Champions League team, Newcastle also look set to lose out to the Reds again after United opened formal talks with RB Leipzig to sign Sesko.

Howe copies Amorim’s transfer message

United are not close to signing Sesko by any means but the progress made in recent days, and that he is now the priority target, suggests that he has explained his preference to join the club.

It has been made clear by Ruben Amorim that United will only target players who are desperate to join the club and ironically this message has been echoed by Eddie Howe while he discussed Newcastle’s troubles in the transfer window.

“We’ve had a frustrating time in terms of losing targets to other clubs,” Howe told reporters this week, with Alexander Isak also open to leaving the club.

“I’d be very open with that. That’s happened on several occasions. You just have to accept it.

“In order for a transfer to really work, in my opinion, the player has to be desperate to come to your club. If we don’t get that, the transfer doesn’t work.”

Sesko’s response is clear after United’s approach

Reports suggest that Sesko favours a move to Old Trafford, which explains why United have made the 22-year-old their priority target up front.

That preference could eventually see Newcastle withdraw from the race, especially given Howe’s stance that the club won’t pursue players who aren’t fully committed to joining. With United advancing talks, it appears Sesko’s intentions are becoming clear.

Newcastle’s current transfer frustrations mirror what United themselves have experienced in recent years, missing out on key targets and being unprepared for the window.

While things are still a work in progress at Old Trafford, there have been signs of genuine momentum this summer. Securing a signing like Sesko would be another strong step forward.
