Ahead of the clash at Old Trafford on the 1st of March, Oliver Glasner has admitted that his side has major injury issues ahead of the fixture.
Manchester United resume Premier League duties on Monday night after a 13-day hiatus, as Michael Carrick leads his side to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to take on Everton F.C.
It will mark the senior men’s first appearance at Everton’s new home, but United have an excellent record against The Toffees, boasting more away wins (19) and more wins overall (42) against Everton than any team has against another in Premier League history.
The Reds head into the fixture aiming to respond positively to their 1–1 draw with West Ham United F.C. a fortnight ago. Currently fourth in the standings, United remain well placed in the race for Champions League qualification.
After travelling to Merseyside, United will have six days to recover before hosting Crystal Palace, whose poor form this season has meant that the side find themselves in 14th, eight points above the relegation places.
Oliver Glasner on Crystal Palace injury blow
Having lost their captain, Marc Guehi, to Manchester City in the January transfer window, the pressure has been on Maxence Lacroix to continue his impressive performances at the back as Crystal Palace’s aim to win the UEFA Conference League continues.
Unfortunately for the Frenchman, he seemingly picked up an injury in the side’s play-off tie. Oliver Glasner addressed the injury blow ahead of upcoming games, including a trip to Old Trafford. As reported by LondonWorld, he said, “How it looked like yesterday, yes, but again, we will assess him further with training in the afternoon [on Friday], after the press conference, and then, we will see.
“But yeah, he had to be subbed because he had problems with his adductor, and he mentioned it at half-time already, so it doesn’t look really good. All others look fine, but nobody will come back.”
“It looks like we’ll have to change the back three again. This was mentioned so often, it was our foundation for everything we had, our back line and the togetherness. Right at the moment, we are not that consistent in our defence, because in all the last games we scored, but we had just one win, and this was when we had a clean sheet.”

Man Utd need to take advantage of the fixture congestion
Manchester United’s disappointing 2024/25 campaign meant that the side had no European football to contend with going into this season.
Adding on to that disappointment, United exited the Carabao Cup in the second round against Grimsby Town, before a third-round FA Cup exit at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion meant that United only had Premier League football to contend with for the remainder of the season.

Crystal Palace travel to Old Trafford just three days after their second-leg play-off fixture against Zrinjski, so United will have the upper hand fitness-wise.
Their back-to-back fixtures against Tottenham and West Ham in the space of three days is the last time that will happen this season, and they will now have full weeks to prepare for the fixtures, and with the fixture getting more congested towards the end of the season for the teams around Manchester United in the push for Champions League football, it’s critical that they make the most out of this advantage.
