Benjamin Šeško has claimed that ‘great things’ are on the horizon for his new side, Manchester United, following their 2-2 draw at Burnley.
Wednesday night represented the start of a new era for Manchester United, as it was their first game of the current Premier League season without their former manager, Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese tactician was sacked on the back of some controversial comments after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United, which left Darren Fletcher to take charge temporarily.
Fletcher’s first test as caretaker was to take on a relegation-threatened Burnley side, and despite an improved performance, the Reds had to settle for a point.
On the bright side, Benjamin Šeško was in form for his new club as he notched a well-taken brace in the 2-2 draw. The Slovenian spoke after the match about what the future holds for United.
Šeško on United’s togetherness
When asked whether there is much resilience and togetherness within the United camp after the match, the summer signing said, via ESPN, “Definitely. I think in general we’re a really great group.
“We’re doing everything to try prove ourselves every single time.
“We just have to keep going, keep pushing, because I think we’re great and, yeah, I believe that great things are coming.”
Šeško’s brace against Burnley doubled his tally for his new side, making it four goals from 18 matches across all competitions.
Šeško finding his feet
Since arriving in Manchester, the goals have been hard to come by for United’s new Slovenian, although he showed much composure when scoring his brace at Turf Moor.
At times, Šeško’s finishing has looked rash since joining the Reds, despite his impressive all-round game, but he managed to show a different side to himself last night.
The 22-year-old’s movement was incredibly clever, with his second goal of the afternoon being especially intelligent as he managed to get on the blind side of the Burnley defender before dispatching a first-time finish.
Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Šeško, as he undoubtedly has all of the physical attributes to become a top striker; it’s just a matter of now polishing his game in front of goal.
