Rúben Amorim has shared an update on Manchester United’s plans for next season, explaining that talks are now underway ahead of the transfer window.
While Manchester United’s comeback tale on the second leg of their Europa League tie with Lyon was nothing short of an inspiring story, their home defeat against Wolves left a bitter taste for the squad.
This is definitely not the first time that the 20-time Premier League champions have been inconsistent this season.
While United’s semi-final fixture against Athletic Club has all the focus right now as it holds the potential for silverware, their Premier League form has been the polar opposite.
While the season ending is at the bay, the focus is on the next as coach Rúben Amorim shared a glimpse of positive movements from the club hierarchy.
Amorim issues transfer window update to United fans
While the manager had a rather bitter Sunday, he shared some positive news when the broadcasters asked whether the Portuguese manager would get the ample support during the summer window.
“We will see everything,” said the United head coach. “We have to look at everything, our squad and what we need to improve, the opportunities that we have on the market.”
“We have everything [under discussion]. We talked about that [financial backing]. We talk every day about the next season,” shared the Portuguese boss.
“So we are doing everything with time. We will get the effort we need to improve the team.”
While the current results are just not sufficient for the United Loyals and the club’s stature, these reports of progress surely are something that makes the fans optimistic for the next season.
United’s market movements back up Amorim’s words
Looking at the progress United has made so far for their squad improvement project, it shows that Amorim’s words on Sunday pretty much check out.
The Portuguese manager’s one of the biggest worries ever since his arrival was the lack of depth in the squad, in addition to quality in multiple positions.
So far, the club have made movements to remedy these situations. From multiple links with quality forwards to defensive additions, the Red Devils are on the move to compete for silverware next season.
As the transfer window is at the bay, all eyes will be on the big names that walk through the United doors next season.
