“We have…” Amad agrees with pundit about Man Utd trait that didn’t exist in September, it must continue

Amad has agreed with pundits on a trait Manchester United showed against Nottingham Forest that did not exist just a few weeks ago.

Casemiro and Amad were the heroes as Manchester United battled back to draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest in a gripping contest at The City Ground.

The match began evenly, with both teams threatening early on, but Forest soon gained control of the first half. Against the run of play, Casemiro put United ahead from a corner that left the home crowd furious, believing it should never have been awarded.

Forest came out firing after the interval, and Morgan Gibbs-White quickly headed them level before Nicolò Savona struck less than a minute later to give the hosts the lead. United refused to fold, and with ten minutes left, Amad produced a superb first-time volley to restore parity for Rúben Amorim’s men.

The Ivorian winger almost completed the turnaround late on, but Murillo’s exceptional goal-line clearance meant the points were shared at full-time.

Amad agrees with pundit’s ‘confidence’ point

Last season, when United fell behind in games, the squad looked lacklustre and panicked, but against Forest, they showed a better air of confidence and belief in the group that they could still secure something from the game.

This is something that was also relayed by former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha, who appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live, stating that the confidence was something that did not exist back in September.

“What we’re seeing from Manchester United is the sense of confidence from them,” Onuoha said on BBC Radio 5 live. “They weren’t flustered when they went 2-1 down, and they will believe they can win this game now, which is something we wouldn’t have seen a few weeks ago.”

It’s not just those watching the game who have noticed this change, but those on the field have, too. Speaking with Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, goalscorer Amad noted that they are now a squad with more confidence.

“We are really disappointed to go home with one point,” Amad said, via the BBC. “We have confidence now. We believe in the manager and the system. We are trying to do our best. We believe in the manager like he believes in us.”

Signs of life after a tough year under Amorim

The match against Forest marked exactly one year since Rúben Amorim took charge of United. Aside from a few strong Europa League performances last season, there hasn’t been much to celebrate.

However, the Forest game made it four matches unbeaten for the Reds, and their spirited comeback after falling behind offered clear positives.

The team’s growing confidence and cohesion on the pitch reflect the trust the players now have in one another and in their head coach — a clear sign of progress under Amorim despite recent challenges.

After a productive summer of smart recruitment and extended time on the training ground, Amorim appears to be successfully embedding his ideas within the squad.
