“We are…” – Diogo Dalot sends clear message to Sir Jim Ratcliffe after listening to Ruben Amorim

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has sent a clear message to the club’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe after listening to Ruben Amorim.
It is no secret that Manchester United have horrendously underperformed this season.
The Reds sacked Erik ten Hag earlier in the campaign but new boss Ruben Amorim has not been able to immediately turn things around.
Currently 15th in the Premier League table and out of both domestic cup competitions, United’s only chance of success this term comes in the Europa League.
That form has led to major question marks about all involved in the club, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe came out to address the ups and downs experienced over the last year in interviews earlier this month.
Amorim challenges United players to prove Ratcliffe wrong
During those interviews, Ratcliffe claimed that some players at Old Trafford are “overpaid” and not good enough for the club. He name-dropped several players, with one said to be “desperate” to leave in the summer.
When the press asked Amorim about those comments, the Portuguese boss explained that both him and the squad need to try and change the British billionaire’s mind.
“If we are being honest, in this moment, everybody, me, the players, are underperforming this season so we can always change that, so I include myself in the underperforming,” he said.
“You are talking about players like Casemiro that have won everything and we know these players can play so much better.
“He was honest in that. The focus is to change his mind and everybody’s.”
Dalot sends clear message to Ratcliffe
United defender Diogo Dalot is one of the first players who has seemingly responded to Amorim’s plea, and sent a clear message to the United co-owner.
The Portuguese international, who has been constantly available for the team over the last two years, believes that United players must “sacrifice” themselves and take on the responsibility that comes with being at the club.
“I think the history of this club is about sacrifice and fighting against the world,” Dalot told club media this week.
“It’s about sacrificing yourself, and each other, every moment on the pitch and being together with the fans to create the energy we all feel in Old Trafford.

“This is the history of the club. If you want to be successful you have to have that desire to try to do everything on the pitch. Whether you like it or not, the attitude has to be there.
“It is clear that when we are 14th or 15th in the league we are not doing what we should. If we want to put Manchester United back on top we need to do much better.
“Ultimately this club will only progress through what we do on the pitch, so we are all responsible for the future and the momentum. We know that we have that responsibility – but we want to take it. The pressure is high but we are Manchester United players for a reason.”
