Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has reacted to an “unstoppable” performance from Manchester United loanee Antony in the Europa Conference League for Real Betis.

Manchester United loanee Antony has made an immediate impact for Real Betis, scoring his second goal for the club on his Europa Conference League debut Thursday evening.

The Brazilian winger joined Betis on loan last month after struggling for opportunities at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim was open to the departure of Antony, with the idea that regular game time in Spain could help him rediscover his form.

Since his big-money move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, Antony has struggled to live up to expectations, but his start to life in La Liga has been promising.

Antony was named Man of the Match in his first two Betis appearances, setting a goal up on his debut before finding the net in his second outing.

His strong form continued in European competition as Betis secured a 3-0 victory over Gent in the first leg of their play-off round. Antony opened the scoring in style, cutting inside from the right before curling a precise shot into the far corner.

Antony took to Instagram to reflect on yet another strong performance in Betis colours, which included an image of his celebration where he displayed a message on his undershirt.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr was quick to react to his fellow countryman’s success, replying with four fire emojis in the comments section. Antony liked the reply.

Spanish media have also been pleased with Antony’s impact at Betis, with Estadio Deportivo describing his performance against Gent as “unstoppable”.

The Brazilian winger will be hoping to continue his impressive form when Betis return to La Liga action on Sunday evening against Real Sociedad.

Antony’s impressive loan form is good for United

Antony’s value at United was steadily decreasing due to his lack of game-time and performances during his time at the club.

A move on loan has allowed him to not only play regularly, but also find the spark he needed to regain some form.

The 24-year-old believes that his happiness in Spain is a large contributor to his strong start in Betis colours. United fans will also think the pressure of being at Old Trafford has been lifted.

Whichever way you think about it, Antony succeeding at the Spanish club is a positive thing for the club, who are not in the best financial decision.

United would have struggled to offload the winger for more than £20 million in the summer if he remained on the Old Trafford bench.

Instead, now it seems like they may be able to get an extra £10-15 million on his price tag if he continues solid form in La Liga for the rest of the season.
