Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged the club to sign Victor Osimhen and claimed he will help two struggling stars.

Ruben Amorim has encountered challenges since becoming Manchester United’s head coach, prompting fans to hope for reinforcements in the January transfer window.

One potential addition is Patrick Dorgu, who is being considered for the left wing-back position, while the club has already secured Arsenal youth prospect Ayden Heaven.

Regarding departures, several situations could be settled before the deadline, including a possible loan move for Marcus Rashford and the uncertain future of Alejandro Garnacho, with Chelsea and Napoli both pursuing a deal.

Considering the difficulties Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee are both facing in front of goal, the Reds could be looking to sign a goalscorer, although that may have to wait until the summer window.

Saha urges United to sign Osimhen

There are several top level strikers who could help United and one of those is Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford and reports claim that Napoli could be open to selling him at around £62 million in the summer.

Former United striker Louis Saha has urged the club to make the move to sign the 26-year-old, claiming that he is the only available forward who would be a “guaranteed success”.

Saha also believes that the signing of Osimhen would help the existing strikers at United who are struggling under the limelight at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee and Højlund have scored a combined five Premier League goals this season. Both players are promising talents but unable to shoulder the burden of being the main goalscorers currently.

“I think that Osimhen is the type of player that would help the other strikers at United,” explained Saha while speaking to spaceportsweden.com.

“They would be able to learn from him, while he would carry most of the pressure of scoring the goals in the team. That would enable Hojlund and Zirkzee to play with more freedom.

“He can also help the other players in the team. His link-up play is so good, he’s solid on that. At the moment, the United strikers don’t win enough 50-50 challenges.

“I would love to see the club make an offer for him, whether it is in January or in the summer. He would be a revelation in the Premier League.”

United could face difficulties in signing players like Osimhen

United could certainly do with a guaranteed goalscorer in their ranks and Saha makes a good point about how that would help other attackers in the team.

If the Reds have a player who will be the focal point for goals, others will have less pressure and, in turn, be more likely to deliver in front of the net.

Whether the club can convince someone like Osimhen of a move is another story. United are extremely unlikely to be playing in the Champions League next season and that will impact their ability in the transfer market.

It would not only be an obstacle to convince top level players of a move, but United may also struggle to reach the wage demands of a player like Osimhen without Champions League football.
