Victor Osimhen: Manchester United target issues transfer statement as miracle claim made

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen has issued a transfer statement as his loan spell at Galatasaray approaches its end.

It is no surprise that Manchester United are looking to sign a striker in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ruben Amorim’s side have struggled in forward areas this season, with Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund both only on three Premier League goals each.

United are already looking ahead to the summer and have several striker targets they have identified.

While recent reports have claimed that Liam Delap is the first-choice option, Victor Osimhen is another player that the Old Trafford club admire and could sign after the season ends.

He is set to depart Napoli this summer after spending the season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he has scored 29 goals so far.

Osimhen issues transfer statement amid United interest

Osimhen is one signing United fans would love to see the club make as he is one of the most highly-rated strikers in European football.

The 26-year-old released an update on his future this week and claimed that a decision will be made “soon” on where he will be playing next season.

“Galatasaray will always be in my heart,” the prolific striker told NTV this week.

“There are always rumours about me, I think about the present. I am enjoying this moment; the fans always support me.

“We will make a decision soon. At the right time, the best decision for everyone will be made.”

Osimhen has a release clause worth around £65 million in the summer although some reports have suggested that he could be sold for even less than that figure.

Galatasaray vice-president makes Osimhen miracle claim

Despite some of the biggest clubs around Europe being interested in signing Osimhen, his current club are also dreaming about potentially making his stay permanent.

FootballTransfers has claimed that Galatasaray have enough money saved to pay the player’s release clause but might not be able to afford his wage demands.

Still, it was claimed that the Turkish club want to try and pull of a “miracle” by securing his signing after being such a success on loan this season.

Galatasaray’s vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu has shared this stance when speaking to AS about the striker’s comments.

“He said that even if he left in the worst-case scenario, Galatasaray would always be in his heart. But he didn’t say he’s leaving. We want him to stay with us,” he stated.
