Unai Emery’s opinion on Alejandro Garnacho revealed, Man Utd outcast sends clear response to Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery would like his side to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United this summer and the Argentine winger has a clear response.

Manchester United have secured the signings of Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo so far this summer and are now turning their attention to sales.

Marcus Rashford is on the verge of departing on a season-long loan to Barcelona, although there are some interesting clauses included in that deal.

Meanwhile, the Reds will be looking to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia in the coming weeks as none of them are in Ruben Amorim’s plans for next season.

Garnacho, 21, is the most valuable player in that group and would represent pure profit on the books. There are several clubs keeping an eye on his situation.

Emery’s opinion on Garnacho as United outcast responds

Despite often frustrating United fans with his lack of end product and some questionable actions away from the pitch, Garnacho could be a great signing for a lot of clubs.

It is well known that he wants to stay in the Premier League though, and that limits the realistic destinations for him this summer.

According to reports from ESPN, Chelsea are closely monitoring the Argentine’s situation but would need to sell players before trying to bring him in.

It was also explained that Aston Villa are interested and manager Unai Emery sees Garnacho as a ‘useful player’ for his style of football.

But even though Garnacho wants to stay in England, he also would prefer to sign for a team playing in the Champions League next term. Villa will be competing in the Europa League instead.

Garnacho’s options are slim

Garnacho’s criteria for his next club leaves Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as the only realistic options. He will not be signing for Liverpool or Manchester City and Newcastle don’t have any interest in him right now.

Interestingly, the final straw for Garnacho at Old Trafford was his anger at the fact he didn’t start the Europa League final. He would not be a guaranteed starter at either Chelsea or Spurs.

While the focus in on United needing to shift the winger, he also needs to find a club ahead of what will be a crucial season for him before the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea’s long-standing interest in the winger seems to put them as the most likely transfer, but it seems like they will need to make sales before thinking about a bid.
